John Sayles, Film Director, Screenwriter and Novelist-- Seminar

John Sayles, Schenectady native and one of America’s most influential independent filmmakers, is the author of a new novel, A Moment in the Sun (2011)— a vast and brilliant American epic. Set in 1897, it portrays the bloody dawn of U.S. interventionism in world affairs. NPR said, “If you only read one book... make it A Moment in the Sun.” His 20 award-winning films include SILVER CITY (2004), MATEWAN (1987), and RETURN OF THE SECAUCUS SEVEN (1979).
