The Capital District’s 32nd Annual celebration of National Engineers Week will host a competition for high school students requiring each contestant to build a balsa wood model bridge. Each model will be judged on aesthetics and loaded to failure by a testing machine donated by Advanced Manufacturing Techniques, Inc. Sponsors include Curtis Lumber, FEE, the Mohawk-Hudson Chapter of ASCE SEI, and the Eastern New York Chapter of ABCD. Over 100 high school students are expected to participate.
