University Ear, Nose, and Throat of Northeastern New York

Free voice box screenings will be offered to individuals who are experiencing hoarseness from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at University Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) of Northeastern New York (NENY), LLC. Physicians and speech pathologists also will be on hand to provide educational presentations and materials on voice care and smoking cessation.

The event is being offered in recognition of “World Voice Day,” an effort by physicians to remind individuals of the importance of their voices and to educate on the significance of proper voice care. According to physicians, hoarseness can be caused by something as simple as laryngitis to something as serious as laryngeal cancer.
