Lake Taghkanic State Park

PRESS RELEASE: The Inaugural WHEEL and HEEL TRI/DUATHLON will be held at beautiful Lake Taghkanic State Park in Ancram, New York on September 25,2011. It will involve a 400 yard swim, a 13.3 mile bike, and a 3 mile run. The Duathlon will substitute a 1 mile run for the swim. Start time is 9am with registration online at wheelandheel.com or same day on site starting at 7:30am. Food and awards will follow. The race will benefit Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The owner of Wheel and Heel Bicycle Store in Wappingers Falls suffered a bicycling accident in 1989 that impaired his bike-riding ability as well as his overall strength. His hope lies in the cure of paralysis promised soon by the research of the Miami Project .
