Sunday School Kick-off

Sunday school begins Sept. 11th. At Emmanuel Reformed Church. Emmanuel Reformed Church is located at 1150 Maple Hill Rd. Castleton, NY (next door to the Maple Hill High School Tennis Courts.)
Sunday school at Emmanuel Reformed Church begins at 8:45 as we join the congregation in worship. We are dismissed to our workshops after the children’s message.
Emmanuel’ Sunday school uses a rotation style of study to meet the learning style of each child or young adult. This year’s theme is Making Worship Real.
The purpose of this Study is to teach our children the meaning of worship. By the end of the Sunday School Year they will have learned many of the elements of Sunday Services. The students will have studied connected scriptures, written prayers, lead the congregation in parts of the service, and (1) come to the realization that worship is not about them, but totally focuses on God. Sunday school students will have the opportunity of develop their understanding of God as they participate in Sunday gathering activities as well as participating in the liturgy. Participants of this study will come to understand that “worship continues to be the central act of Christians. It is through worship that we praise God, receive forgiveness, hear the word read and proclaimed, and receive guidance and blessing as we seek to live our faith in the world. … The work of the congregation is born in worship as it has been since the beginning of Christianity.”
