Peebles Island is a 140-acre state park that offers miles of hiking trails, spectacular views of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers, a recreational area with a picnic pavilion, canoe launch, scenic overlook, picnic tables, and grills. Located 12 miles north of Albany at the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers, the entrance to Peebles Island State Park is on Delaware Avenue off Ontario Street (Rte. 470) in Cohoes, near the 112th Street Bridge. The bridge between Peebles Island and Waterford will be open to pedestrians, but closed to cars.
