We are proud to be the pioneers in introducing original Lebanese cuisine to the Capital Region. Six years ago we turned our pizzeria on River Street in Troy into a small Lebanese restaurant after friends who had tasted my wife's home cooking encouraged us to do so. My wife, Simone, gave the restaurant the name Al-Baraki, which translates to blessings. After we moved to Albany we decided to expand further, making our unique food available for consumers looking for heart-healthy and delicious fare. Now, in Cohoes, we are packaging and distributing our products to health and specialty stores throughout the region. We have been voted consistently Best Middle-Eastern Cuisine by many local publications, and are still voted number one for best falafel in the Capital Region. Falafel, well-known for its health benefits and its savory flavor, is a vegetarian patty made of ground chickpeas and spices, served with tahini sauce. It also may be served on a salad or wrapped in pita bread with fresh vegetables.Tabbouli served by Al-Baraki is different from all others found in the market. Our tabbouli is made the traditional way, where actually you are enjoying the rich taste of fresh vegetables (parsley, tomato, onion, olive oil, soy oil, lemon juice, salt, dry mint, and spices). We will be introducing more traditional dishes continuously for you to enjoy the goodness of homemade Lebanese cuisine. Be sure to visit regularly. Andfor those of you who are not adventurous, we want to tell you, "You don't know what you're missing 'til you try it!"Bon Appetite from your HostsPaul and Simone ChedraweeAl-Baraki
