Ponding for Families

Come to Arcadia to explore life in a spring pond. After a brief introduction, families will take net in hand and explore what lives beneath the muck of our pond. At this time of year, we hope to find frogs, both tadpoles and adults, along with a huge abundance of aquatic macroinvertebrates. Longtime Arcadia camp counselor and environmental educator Rebecca Moretti will first review pond critters with a fun game, discuss the ecology and unique adaptations that animals have to survive in a wet environment, and provide the group with nets and bug boxes to explore what lurks in the pond.
