Great Blue Herons

The great blue heron, not to be confused with the pterodactyl, is a prehistoric-looking majestic wading bird. Come learn about the ecology and behavior of this bird and other family members through a brief slide show. Afterward, we will drive a short distance and take a walk to view a rookery (communal nesting area), where we should be able to see adults coming in for the night and possibly young in the nest.
