Join historian Mike Whalen on a rediscovery of the long-forgotten ghost village of South Hawley. Located deep in the highland forest of southwestern Franklin County, this area was once a thriving farming community of independent pioneers who prospered along a bustling stage road. Today, all that remains are the cellar holes and scattered remnants of a deserted era. This 4-mile moderate hike will explore the archaeology, culture, and dramatic transformation of South Hawley's landscape. Springtime flora and extensive beaver habitat will also highlight the excursion. Registration is required. Call (413) 584-3009 for details.
