The Mohonk Preserve encompasses over 6,600 acres of land in the Northern Shawangunks. It is part of a National Historic Landmark landscape still bearing the signs of earlier inhabitants, from early native rockshelters to vestiges of a 19th century mountain hamlet. Over 1,400 species of plant and animals inhabit the forests, streams, rocky summits and cliff faces. Annual memberships are available or visitors may purchase a day pass.
