French King Restaurant

The French King Restaurant and Motel is lcoated at the confluence of the Millers and Connecticut Rivers. It gets its name from the French King Rock, so called by French officers reconnoitering during the French and Indian War. North of the 139 foot high French King Bridge lies the huge rock from which the bride dervives its name. Historical records say that in 1674 the French and Indian expedition, en route to attack in nearby Deerfield, made camp on the western bank of the river to avoid running the rapids at nightfall.
