Opening event for The Harris Observatory, a temporary installation by Richard Torchia

The CENTERpieces announces a special opening: The Harris Observatory, a temporary project by artist RICHARD TORCHIA.
By converting a geodesic dome into an immersive light installation powered solely by the sun, viewers find themselves under a canopy of thousands of holes drilled in the ceiling mapping stars present behind the daytime sky. Window lenses throw camera obscura projections onto hand-held screens. The space becomes dense with live, inverted images of the surrounding nature.
