The Gilded Age for the Stage

The playwriting workshop will take students through a step-by-step process, researching a local historical figure, culling information from books, letters and journals, and developing a story, scenes with dialogue, and ultimately, a short play that will be performed by local actors at the last class. The focus will be on Sarah Learned of Pittsfield who became the second wife of George Hale Morgan, owner of Ventfort Hall. No prior playwriting experience is necessary.
