Amongst Gay City State Park’s fishing and picnic areas, lakeside beaches, and nature trails, the ruins of a 19th century town offer a unique glimpse into Connecticut's past. Stone foundations, the remnants of a destroyed mill, and old tombstones hint at the village settled in 1796, established to live apart from the surrounding communities.
