Ten plays written by local playwrights will be staged as part of the Rosendale Theatre Plays Festival. All plays run ten minutes or less and take place in, near, or are about the Rosendale Theatre. The works to be staged include:
Jacqueline Ahl's Go On; Catherine M. Brown's Weekender; Laurence Carr's Ophelia Cordelia; Richard Carrazzini's The Ten~Minute Date; Robert Clem's Uncle Tony; Laura Shaine Cunningham's Flop Cop; David Little's Let`S Just Sit Down!; Janet Neipris's Protest; D. Tucker Smith's Lady In The Movie; and Edward Versailles's Sydney`S CHOICE.
The ten plays will be directed by Theatre Collective members Susan Einhorn, Ann Citron and Trish Hawkins.
Cast members include several veteran professionals of stage, screen and television: Simone Bart, Claudia Brown, Ann Citron, Sophia Raab Downs, Jason Downs, Trish Hawkins, David Little, Doug Motel, Dana Patton, Rachel Ritacco, Eugene Ruoff, Lori Wilner and Carrie Wykoff.
The Rosendale Theatre Plays Festival was conceived by artistic director Susan Einhorn, who has directed many short play festivals in NYC. Einhorn is a member of the Board of Advisors of The Rosendale Theatre.
All funds raised from the festival will benefit the restoration and renovation of the historic Rosendale Theatre, the anchor business of Main Street.
The festival has been made possible in part by a grant from The Dutchess County Arts Council.
