Historic Town of New Windsor Parklands administered by the National Temple Hill Association was the location of the huts occupied by the Northern Continental Army during the winter of 1782-83. Over 7,000 soldiers and 500 family members encamped at New Windsor. In the spring, the preliminary peace agreement was announced, ending the war after 8 long years.
