Faculty Recital: Mary Bonhag, Soprano; Matthow Odell, Piano.

The program is varied, anchored by the ecstatic and personal song cycle by Olivier Messiaen Poèmes pour Mi, dedicated to his wife. The recital will also include romantic Swedish songs by Ture Rangström, short gems by Anton Webern (a student of Schoenberg's), and a set of the poetry of Emily Dickinson set by a variety of American composers including Aaron Copland. The evening will end with a few standards from the American Songbook. Free and open to the public.
