2010 Peru Fair Date Set For Saturday, September 25.
Proceeds to Benefit Peru Scholarship Fund
Peru, Vermont - The Peru Fair, rated as one of Vermont’s top ten tourist events, will once again fill the town of Peru with visitors and craftspeople on Saturday, September 25. Now entering its 31st year, the Fair offers hay rides, a “village green” pig roast, and pony rides, as well as area crafts and food products provided by some 100 area artisan and craft people.
In announcing the date, Joe O’Donnell, this year’s Fair Chairman, stated that … “The Peru Fair has attracted several thousand visitors to our town each year to the benefit of every kid in Peru who is continuing their education on a full time basis, post high school. So not only is it a lot of fun for everyone, but it serves a good cause as well.”
This year’s Fair will open at 9:00 am. As usual, free bus service to and from the town is provided from Bromley Mountain’s parking lot (about a five minute ride). Admission is a suggested $5 which is directed to The Peru Scholarship Fund.
Based on the Farmers Almanac, The Peru Fair Committee stressed that the 25th will be a sunny, quintessential early autumn day and is suggesting that there is no need for umbrellas this year – unless it rains.
