Betty \& the Baby Boomers

Though you may think their name "sounds like either a yuppie-oriented pop group or an outfit starring Betty with some sort of backup band" it so happens that this is a quartet of equals, comprised of Betty Boomer, Steve Stanne, Jean Valla McAvoy and Paul Rubeo, who joyfully occupy the big tent that is folk music. Their happy, harmonizing, instrumentally adept performances are "a refreshing reminder of the halcyon days of American folk music" (Sing Out!). In addition to original songs from Jean, the Boomers draw on traditional music, songs by contemporary artists such Bruce Cockburn and Dougie MacClean, and folk-revival classics by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Phil Ochs.
