2011-2012 Series The Great Books Discussions Series gives adults the opportunity to meet informally to read, consider, and discuss some of the best books written in the past 2500 years. Discussions will be guided by Robert Donovan, Professor Emeritus, University at Albany, who will encourage the group to think about problems of meaning in the great books. Based on selections of the Great Books Foundation. Most readings are available free online in full text, or in print at libraries, or as in-library reference copies at Central. The Schenectady County Public Library will assemble copies of the readings, which will be available after Aug 24 at the Reference Desk after pre-registration for a copying fee of $15 for approximately 400 pages.
