The Orchards Golf Club course in South Hadley, Mass. does not normally welcome dogs on its course but it is making an exception as the fifth annual Fidelco Fall Classic kicks off on Monday, September 21, 2009. The Stanley Works’ sponsorship of the tournament is its fifth in a row and represents on-going support of the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, New England’s only guide dog school.
Registration begins at 8:30 A.M. with a shotgun start at 10:30 A.M. Contests include closest to the pin, longest drive and more. Lunch will provided as well as a buffet dinner. An awards ceremony and raffle follow the tournament.
“The Fidelco Fall Classic has become a tradition for us,” said Michael N. Soderlund, director with the Mass Mutual Financial Group and organizer of the tournament. “When you combine a world class golf course like the Orchards, a sponsor with the stature of Stanley Works and proceeds benefiting an organization that brings freedom and independence to people with visual disabilities, it can’t help but be a special tournament.”
