Beirut Restaurant, a restyled Al-Baraki, announces grand opening
Troy, NY – Troy’s Al-Baraki Restaurant, located in the River Street Antiques District, has changed hands, expanded its menu and dining room and been renamed Beirut Restaurant.
The restaurant features table service in addition to a weekday all-you-can eat lunch buffet which features menu favorites for $8 per person. Established Al-Baraki patrons and new diners can expect more variety at continued reasonable prices.
New owner Georges Haj Nasr, nephew of the establishment’s prior owner, stated, “We wanted to keep our entrée prices low because a lot of our patrons are college students, but we wanted to offer more selections. That’s why we added to the menu and now offer a lunch buffet.”
Haj Nasr, a Beirut native, stated that old favorites will remain on the menu, such as Shish Kabab (beef patties prepared with onion, parsley and a special blend of Lebanese seasoning), Baba Ghannouj (smoked eggplant mixed with garlic, lemon and tahini) and Felafel (chickpeas fried to golden and served on a bed of lettuce, tomato, turnip pickles and tahini sauce).
New offerings include homemade pies (spinach, meat and goat cheese), assorted daily specials, numerous vegetarian choices, and a bigger dessert menu. All dinners include a side of Hummus, Baba Ghannouh, a salad and rice. Dinner prices range from $4.00 to $13.00.
The restaurant will continue to offer take-out service, as well as catering for special events and meetings.
Beirut Restaurant is located at 184 River Street in Troy. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm. For more information, call (518) 270-9404 or email BEIRUTRestaurant@hotmail.com.
