Saint Joseph College Art Gallery Presents a Gallery Talk: “Silence, Sunlight, Shadows: the Legacy of Emilio Sanchez”

Presented by Professor Dorothy Bosch Keller M'85, C'97, chairperson, Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Saint Joseph College. Capturing the visual essence of the transient nature of sunlight and shadows is a daunting task. Cuban artist Emilio Sanchez (1921 - 1999) portrays the ineffable in an almost effortless manner by making the transient static. The artist invites the viewer to dialogue with a unique, creative and powerful portrayal of silence.
